Rs.15965.33 lakhs for police modernization

State home minister, Imkong L. Imchen said that a total of `15965.33 lakhs has been received so far from the MHA under the Police Modernization Scheme. Imchen, replying to a starred question during the budget session Friday, gave the details of expenditure involved on the Modernization fund, a DIPR report said. The total sanction amount received under the scheme from 2003-04 to 2010-11 are as follows:- 2003-04 (`1937.55 lakhs), 2004-05 (`899.27 lakhs), 2005-06 (`1256.55 lakhs), 2006-07 (`2018.41 lakhs), 2007-08 (`2792.93 lakhs), 2008-09 (`2204.56 lakhs), 2009-10 (`2549.32 lakhs), 2010-11 (`2306.74 lakhs).
PAPO to monitor jungle burning
DIMAPUR: Phek Area Public Organisation (PAPO) in its effort to stop destruction of the earth has decided to strictly monitor burning of jungle within its jurisdiction and to preserve wildlife to maintain ecological balance. This decision was taken at a meeting held on March 18 at GBs conference hall Phek town. The organisation also elected five executive members to maintain systematic and smooth functioning of PAPO and also resolved to represent women representatives in the organisation during the next general session. Also lauding DAN government under state chief minister Neiphiu Rio and minister for health and family welfare Azo Nienu for undertaking developmental activities in Phek, the organisation decided to extend its cooperation and support DAN government.
