Another scam that is more serious than the 2G scam is the fake pilot license scam that has hit the aviation industry most after several pilots have been found to have obtained flying license from the DGCA after paying money to flying institutes to get bogus flying hours credit and manipulation of marks. The scam came to light after several near-fatal accidents by pilots with fake licenses. According to Times Now, one of the institutes has been identified as CARVAR Flying Institute based at Barammati, Maharashtra which had its training license cancelled in 2007 for issuing fake flying hours and doctoring marks of trainee pilots. The cancellation was later revoked by the same DGCA. It is learnt that the same institute has agreed to start the proposed flying school in Dimapur.
