Chumoukedima village youth society (CVYS) has re-affirmed to preserve the eco-system, by imposing a total ban on hunting and poaching in any form.
The society in this regard notified all responsible to refrain from encroaching or illegal collection of flora and fauna, burning of wild fire within its jurisdiction.
The society while warning “illegal” jhum cultivators stated it would take action against defaulters as per the directives from the parental authority.
It also warned those responsible for the cause of wild fire would be heavily penalized without warning. However CVYS lamented that even after issuing repeated notice, many were still engaging in burning jungle, hunting, fishing, and illegal practice.
To this, the society said it would conduct phase wise surprise checking and cautioned defaulters that strict action would be enforced without prior warning.
The society has therefore called upon all concerned to extend co-operation in enforcing the ban so as to protect and preserve the flora and fauna.
