Government high school Longkhim, is one of the oldest schools in Tuensang district has been running with acute shortage of graduate teachers and congested classrooms.
The building was constructed way back in 1990s.
Highlighting their grievances, United Sangtam Students’ union (USSU) mentioned many students had been denied admission because of overcrowding of classrooms.
As such, the USSC said promulgation of right to education by the government has become worthless.
USSU further added one graduate teacher B. Bendang was transferred on promotion to Sutokur in 2008 and even after a lapse of two–three years; the vacant post has not been replaced till date.
In this condition, USSU has appealed the authority in-charge to appoint at least two graduate teachers and to extend the class rooms before the career of many students are affected.
