The long pending hearing on reservation policy filed by Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) would be heard Thursday at Guahati High Court. The public interest litigation (PIL) on reservation policy to be heard by the honorable Guahati High Court was earlier fixed February 14 last however the Court deferred the hearing to March 3. It may be mentioned that February 19, minister for health and family welfare, Küzholüzo Azo during the Chakhesang Hoho Dimapur general session had appealed the CPO to withdraw the PIL on reservation policy expressing concern that the career of many Naga youth including the Chakhesangs were held back as the government was enable to declare the pending results. Chief Secretary, Lalthara had also said that if it was the stand of the CPO that no open recruitment to government jobs be allowed by the state government till their PIL in the high court on job reservation was decided, or till the state government revises/modifies its existing reservation policy, it may not be fair on the job seekers, many of whom are on the verge of being over-age for directed recruitment. Neither the court, nor the government could be expected to take quick decisions on sensitive issue like job reservation policy.
