Rengmas affirm to uphold spirit of unity

The second joint consultative meeting of Rengma NGOs with Naga politcal groups under Rengma region was convened by Rengma Mothers Association on February 25 at Tseminyu Town Hall. Representatives from Rengma Hoho, Rengma Officers Forum, CRBC, Rengma Mothers Association, Rengma students Union, GBs Union, Sr. Citizens and all Naga political groups attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the house adopted a resolution and reaffirmed that Rengma frontal organizations would continue to strive for upholding the spirit of unity and covenant of reconciliation process and decided to hold consultative meeting within its frontal organization as well as with other Naga NGOs in order to pursue peace and covenant of reconciliation till the goal is achieved.
The meeting also decided that Rengma Hoho would host the third joint consultative meeting of the Rengma NGOs. The members further resolved to enforce total prohibition on selling, buying and uses of alcohol, intoxication and liquor in Rengma area. The Rengma Mothers Association stated that it would spearhead the movement for prohibition and in the event of necessity to use force, Rengma NGOs shall requisition forces from Naga political groups for their assistance.
The meeting also expressed its concerned over the recent incident of factional clashes in Arunachal Pradesh and Mayamar between the GPRN/NSCN and NSCN/GPRN and appealed to both the factions to respect peace and spirit of covenant of reconciliation process and to desist from killing.
