As notified in local newspapers, market rate chart boards set up by Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) in markets under its jurisdiction for convenience of public, were damaged at daily market, Super Market on March 1 afternoon.
As per information received from a DMC chowkidar, some staff of Development Authority of Nagaland was seen striking off DMC’s name from the rate chart boards set up Super Market area using white paint.
According to DMC publicity cell, Super Market is owned by DAN but falls under DMC’s jurisdiction and stated that since the area also falls under DMC, it has very right to put rate chart in Super Market daily bazaar.
The council further stated the sanitation staff of DMC had also complained that some staff of DAN had even stopped them from sweeping in Super Market area.
Advisor in-charge of DMC Market Rate Control Cell has lodged complaint at police station regarding damage of chart boards asking police to look into the matter and take against those responsible for damaging the boards set up in the interest of the public.
Meanwhile, chief advisor DMC also urged DAN officials to find out those responsible for damaging the board.
