National Safety Day observed

IOCL LPG Bottling Plant: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), LPG Bottling Plant, Dimapur with the rest of country on Friday observed 40th National Safety Day to create industrial safety awareness amongst masses about safety, health and also to protect the environment.
The function was chaired by Plant Manager, Huwuto Sema attended by B. Das, Sr. Manager, AOD Digboi and Rajib Barai, Manager in the presence of a large gathering comprising of officials of IOCL, Security guard, drivers, khalassi and contract labours.
Speeches on industrial safety were delivered by officers from Indian Oil Corporation Limited on the theme “Work together for Safety. It is everybody’s responsibility”.
During the function, LPG bottling plant distributed safety gifts to security guards including 8th NAP and cash incentives for outstanding industrial safety for the year was also awarded to one of the employee B Bhuyan.
Indian Oil Depot, Signal Basti: National Safety Day’ was also observed at Indian Oil Depot, Signal Basti under the sponsorship of state labour department. The program started with Sr. Depot Manager, Dimapur Depot administering the safety pledge to the employees and other workmen. A short speech on industrial safety was delivered by Sh. D. M. Maring, Dy. Mgr (Ops) followed by demonstration and use of safety and personnel protective equipments. Safety awards and cash incentives were given to two workmen who had made notable contribution towards ensuring year long Industrial Safety.
Amar roller and flour mill: Along with the rest of the country, the 40th National Safety Day was observed at Amar roller flour mill on March 4. Highlights of the programme included presentations of cash awards to employees and administration of oath for safety to workers. Solar Timbers (P) ltd: Solar Timbers (P) ltd observed the National Safety week by organizing a programme within the premises of the mill. The company also declared Bimal Suren of chopping section as the best worker for 2010.
