Registered eco-clubs schools, Mon district informed: Divisional forest officer (DFO) Mon, Y M Jami has informed all teacher’s in-charge of eco-clubs, under Mon district to collect ‘speed/seed money’ from divisional forest officer, office from March 8-10. Further, schools which have not registered/formed eco-club have been requested to register.
CSU presidential meeting: Presidential meeting of all units president under Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has been convened on February 11, 12noon at Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima (Kitsubozou) to deliberate on matter regarding the forth coming NSF conference to be host by the Chakhesang Students’ Union at Pfutsero town. All unit presidents have been informed to attend the meeting.
DC Mon constitutes district level task force committee: As directed by state governor DC Mon Dinesh Kumar, IAS has constituted the following members as the district task force for bio-medical waste management committee for Mon district with immediate effect. The members are DC- chairman, chairman, MTC, CMO (Medical), representative from Nagaland pollution board, president KU, KNSK as members and town planner as member secretary.
Class A free text book: Deputy inspector of school (DIS) has informed all government primary schools to collect class-A free text book during office hour starting March 7.
Nagaland aluminum industries observe ‘National Safety Day’: Along with the rest of the country, Nagaland aluminum industries, Dimapur observed the 40th ‘National Safety Day’ on March 4 at its premises attended by the management and workers. Cash prize of Rs 1000 was awarded to the best performer award winner Jotish Rai by deputy chief inspector of factories and boilers Yanger Aier.
VEC Piellhang against appointment: Village education committee (VEC) Piellhang has objected to appointment of computer facilitator at GMS Piellhang. VEC alleged that computer facilitator was appointed without the approval of the VEC and that it was contrary to the existing norms, adding it was never consulted or informed for filling up of the post. Expressing that first preference should be given to well-qualified permanent resident, VEC Piellhang appealed the authority in charge to re-verify the case and ensure that justice is upheld at the earliest.
Pipe line at Lizu Naghuto village, Zunheboto: A Water Tank with pipe line at Lizu Naghuto village, Zunheboto district, was inaugurated on February 28 by 21 Assam Rifles, constructed as part of Army MCA Project (Op Samaritan) under the aegis of Headquarter 7 Sector Assam Rifles. The people of Lizu Naghuto Village expressed their heartfelt gratitude to 21 Assam Rifles for the magnificent job and completing the project on time. Around 150 people witnessed the inaugural function.
USLP uphold granting job reservation to Sumis: United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) in its executive meet held on February 22 and 23 at Longkhim town. USLP during the meet, unanimously resolved to uphold granting job reservation to Sumis of Kiphire district. USLP in this regard, expressed gratitude and appreciation to DAN government led by chief minister Neiphiu Rio and his cabinet for resolving long cherished dream for Sumis of Kiphire district.
Health camp at Baghty: A health camp was organized at Montfort school, Baghty on February 25 sponsored by North East Catholic Hospital Association (NECHA). Altogether 100 patients and 350 students were examined and free medicines distributed. Further, Montfort school principal, Bro A C Sebastian has expressed gratitude to Dr. Chiben M O, Yimpang, Dr. Zubon M O Englan, Longshithung and Dr. Sangeeth, 40 AR, Wokha, DMO Wokha, Dr. N Mhabemo Kithan, CMO, Wokha, Dr W N Ezung deputy CMO, Wokha and Dr. John Murry.
20 AR interact with students: Ghaspani based 20 Assam Rifles organized a day long visit inside their camp for the students of Mount Mary Higher Secondary school. During the visit, students were shown documentaries on the role of Assam Rifles and training at Indian Military Academy. Commandant of the unit also gave a brief insight on the various modes of entry into the Armed forces including Territorial Army. The students later visited the firing range, computer training cell, Jazz and pipe band. Other highlights of the visit included weapon display and medical examination of the students by the regimental doctor.
Kiddies Corner School sports meet: The 20th annual sports meet of Kiddies Corner School Phek town concluded on February 26 with SP Phek W. Krome as the chief guest. Welcome address was delivered by school proprietor Huvesu Khamo, special number was presented by Kukralu Class VIII. Vote of thanks was pronounced by John Science teacher. The prizes were given away by head master of the school.
KHE ‘International Women’s Day’: Kyong Hungjantaren Ekhüng (KHE), a non-profit association of like-minded educated Kyongs would be commemorating ‘International Women’s Day’ on March 8, 11 am at LTC hall with a seminar on ‘The unique role of the mother in the child’s education at school and at home’.The occasion would be graced by Khevito Shohe, additional director, social welfare department as chief guest. Topic speakers Orenponi Ezung, headmistress, GHSS Wokha would speak on ‘The unique role of the mother in the child’s education at school’, Nyanchumi Kithan, KLBC women leader on ‘The role of the mother in the child’s education at home’ and greetings by Kyong Eloe (Women) Hoho chairperson Zuchobeni Ezung.
General manager DIC, Mon notifies: General manager, district industries centre Mon has issued general information all local candidates who have passed Class VIII standard and above, to submit their application form for training in weaving and handicraft section for a period of one year course at DIC, Mon. Interview test for candidates would be held on March 30, 10am in the office chamber of general manager, DIC, Mon and training will commerce from April 1. Interested candidates have been asked to submit application along with photo copy of education certificate to the office of the DIC, Mon on or before March 23. The candidates are also asked to bring their original certificate or documents during the interview.
