Yuva Kriti, platform where youth showcase talents

Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Nagaland zone organized three-day Yuva Kriti at IG Stadium Kohima from March 2 with Khrieshütso Kiso as chief guest. Ibohanbi Singh zonal director NYKS Nagaland Zone gave the key note address while John Makhabo presided over the programme.
Kh. Ibohanbi Singh zonal director in his key note address said in the past, a large number of talents remained unexplored due to lack of adequate platform and lack of opportunity.
The cultural programmes was organized with a view to preserve and enrich cultural heritage of the state and also to disseminate important messages of national and international importance through folk, art and culture.
Kiso also stated the programme aimed at enhancing skill level of youth and thereby facilitate them for self-employment to augment family income.
The chief guest citing an example of Jawaharlal Nehru as true national leader, who loved the youth so much, said he wanted the youth to be perfect man and women for future not only in education but also in sports and other activities which contribute good health and enable them to perform his or her duties better.
He also stressed on the importance of making one’s life proportionate.
The inaugural programme concluded with a word of thanks by Peleneizo Chadi followed by cultural competition and exhibition of handicrafts, handlooms and food items of 7 NYK districts of Nagaland where D. Lokho Rtd joint secretary government of Nagaland, Zavise Rume Director, NE counseling and career guidance and Kedozo Yhokha president youth development services society adjudged the winners.
Winners of different competitions are cultural folk dance Mokokchung district- champion, Zunheboto- 1st runners-up, Phek district- 2nd runners-up. in cultural folk song, Mokokchung emerged as the champion, Kohima and Zunheboto districts as 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively.
In the exhibition, Phek district emerged as champion Zunheboto and Wokha districts as 1st runners-up and Kohima and Mon districts as 2nd runners-up.
