Painting competition on ‘Wildlife & environment’

‘Nanhe Chitrakaar’ an annual painting competition for children on the theme- ‘Wildlife & environment’ was organized by Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF) on Saturday at Kohima with 70 children of Amway Business Owners (ABO) participating in the competition.
Azizi Phesao, Abhijit, and Dziesevituo, all 7 years old, came first, second and third respectively in the 4 to 7 years category.
Külüngolü Venyo, 10 years, Lankunthung, 12 years, and Rajünang, 10 years came first, second and third respectively in the 8 to 12 years category.
The prizes were distributed by Rupjyoti Das, training in-charge for upper Assam and Nagaland.
AOF drew overwhelming response from participants at the Nanhe Chitrakaar competition held in various locations of east.
Children from Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home, the oldest orphanage in Kohima also participated.
As aptly christened, Nanhe Chitrakaar is a Pan India annual painting competition for children organized under the patronage of Amway Opportunity Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Amway India.
Amway Opportunity Foundation presented prizes to winners of Nanhe Chitrakar 2010 including certificates to all participants signed by William S Pinckney, Chairman, and Amway Opportunity Foundation.
In a message, William S Pinckney, Chairman, Amway Opportunity Foundation commented, “The Central idea of the painting competition is to instill a spirit of brotherhood and foster a bond of partnership among the children of distributors and less privileged children.”
This year, AOF is organizing Nanhe Chitrakaar in as many as 70 locations in India. AOF has tied-up with arts teachers from schools in each of these cities to be judges.
Amway Opportunity Foundation will send the best three paintings in each category to Amway Corporation in Ada, USA.
The winning paintings will adorn the walls of the Amway offices along with the family-portrait of the winners.
The paintings will be also printed in greeting cards and will be auctioned.
