DG of LCI visits Kohima Lions Club

Lions Club of Kohima organized a programme in honour of District Governor of Lions Club International of District 322D, Lion Roman Bordoloi who visited Lions Club of Kohima (LCK) at Ura Hotel Kohima on Sunday.
Bordoloi in his address expressed happiness on visiting the premier club at Kohima and highlighted so many ongoing and upcoming humanitarian projects of the Lions Club International. He urged the members of the LCK to come up with more humanitarian projects other than their ongoing pet projects in Kohima or elsewhere in the state.
DG also informed the members about the “diabetes awareness” project initiated by the Lions Club International. He said the diabetes awareness of the Lions Club International necessitated by the World Health Organization estimated that over 422 million people worldwide have diabetes, a growing world epidemic that was expected to affect over 642 million by 2040. He said the members should join in this massive awareness campaign with local community partners.
Lion Bordoloi also urged the LCK to enrol more new members into the Club as they had to serve more people, stating that more members in the Club would serve more people.
LCK president Lion Tali Jamir, while welcoming the DG, gave him a brief record of the Club activities and also new projects that were to be taken up in the next Lionistic Year – 2017-18.
Lion Talitemsu Jamir, treasurer of the Club, presented the financial record of the Club to the visiting DG, while Lion Aroba, 1st vice president of the Club, delivered vote of thanks. A large number of Club members attended the event. Lion Lalita R Khadaria, secretary, Dimapur Blue Vanda, also attended the event.
