DFO Tuensang informs: Divisional forest officer (DFO) Tuensang has informed all schools under Tuensang district registered under eco- club to collect materials from DFO office from March 12. DFO also informed eco- clubs to submit their activities report.
Deputation of Hindi teachers: Deputy Inspector of Schools (DIS) Kohima has informed that deputation of Hindi teachers during 2011-2012, eligible to undergo ten months intensive course, to submit required documents to DIS, Kohima office latest by March 23.
Articles for LSU golden jubilee: Lozaphuhü Students’ Union (LSU) will be celebrating its golden jubilee in the early part of January 2012 and at the same hosting the 65th session of Chakhesang Students’ Union. The souvenir committee members have requested students and well wishers to contribute articles for the golden jubilee magazine before September 30 and also invited members to contribute a suitable theme for the conference. Sensitization programme on HIV: Dimapur Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship (DBPF) and Prodigals’ Home would be organizing a sensitization programme on HIV infected and affected children and related issues on March 8, 10am to 3pm at Town Fellowship, Kher Mahal, DABA. The programme is hosted by Dimapur Ao Baptist Church. Topics on ‘Issues related to HIV infected, affected and vulnerable children’, ‘Stigma and discrimination- A theological reflection’ an Discussion on way forward-possibilities of Church involvement would be deliberated in the seminar.
State level seminar on bee keeping: Two-day state level seminar on awareness, motivational and technology transfer for development of beekeeping in Nagaland is being organized under the banner of the Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) from March 9 and 10 and NE Agri Expo Site 4th mile, Dimapur. The event sponsored by National Bee Board (NBB), Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, New Delhi would be participated by 300 participants comprising of beekeepers from Village Beekeeping Committees (VBKC) of all eleven districts of Nagaland, Officials from Agri and Allied Departments, Research institutes, Banking institutions, NGO’s, Entrepreneurs and interested individuals. The seminar would be marked by various technical sessions delivered by experts from NBB, NEPED, CIH, Dept of Horticulture, AICRP-SASRD, KVIB, NABARD and NBHM. Participants from VBKC’s have been requested to be at the venue by 9am on the inaugural day for registration.
Ban on sale of Gutkhas’: Zunheboto Range Students’ Union (ZRSU) has imposed ban on sale of Gutkha items within the jurisdiction of Zunheboto range. Further, the union resolved to initiate strict action against those selling the banned items viz: Tez, Talab, Raja Mix etc. To ensure full implementation of resolution, the union said it would conduct surprise checking time to time and warned those found selling the banned items would be doing on their own risk.
WSBAK first combined meeting: Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (WSBAK) has convened a combined meeting on March 10, 10am at Akuvuto Shozukhu hall for the forthcoming 27th annual session cum triennial conference of NBCC from October 21-23 hosted by WSBAK youth department. All WSBAK youth executive, planning board chairman and members, finance committee convener and members, pandal and electricity committee convener and member, beautification committee convener and members, reception committee convener and members, publicity committee convener and members, accommodation committee convener and members, mess committee convener and members have been requested to attend the meeting.
Disruption of water supply: Executive Engineer (PHED), T Imtiakum, Urban division, Dimapur has informed all water supply consumers under Dimapur district and Chumukedima areas that water supply would be disrupted due to repair of main pipeline with effect from March 7 till the work was completed.
JPYO to observe ‘Mlei-Ngi’ festival: Jalukie Pumling Youth Organization (JPYO) would be organizing a joint celebration programme of ‘Mlei-Ngi’ festival from March 9-11 at Jalukie village. All bona-fide members have been requested to attend the programme in traditional attire.
Mon-Namtola road under repair: Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Mon division has informed the public of Mon district that due to ongoing construction of Mon-Namtola road, traffic flow at 22.5km may get partially blocked. All concerned have been requested to bear with the inconvenience.
Army recruitment rally at Zunheboto: Army recruitment rally for Nagaland state would be held on March 24-30 at DC ground, Zunheboto. All interested candidates may contact Rajya Sainik board, Kohima: 0370-2270029/2229942 (office) and all ZSB offices.
NSF 24th general conference: The 24th general conference of Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) scheduled from April 27-30 would be hosted by Chakhesang Students’ Union at Pfutsero town. Altogether 3000 participants are expected to partake in the conference with special invitation to eminent personality from outside and within the state. Further NSF has constituted an official council with nineteen organizing committee members, four finance committee members and three election commissions in-order to felicitate the general conference.
Automobile and radio mechanic training: General manager I/C, district industries centre, Dimapur has informed all educated local youth that interview for automobile and radio mechanic training would held on March 29, 10am at the office chamber of general manager DIC, Dimapur. Training would commence from April 1 for nine (9) months. All interested candidates Class VIII pass and above may submit their resume along with photo copy of educational certificate, mark-sheet and two recent passport photos to the office of general manager, DIC Dimapur before March 23. Further applicants have been requested to bring original certificates and documents on the date of interview.
ESSU new office bearers: Eastern Sumi Students’ Union (ESSU) elected new office bearers for the tenure 2011-13. The team would be led by Inahoto G Swu as president, Nagavi Achumi as vice president and Vinoka Chophy as general secretary along with fourteen executive members.
IMFL seized: Excise department under superintendent of excise Phek conducted surprise raid in and around Phek town, Pfustero and Meluri sub-division on March 2 to 4 and seized 63 bottles of IMFL. The ten accused persons were booked under the NLTP Act. The department informed that such combined checking would be conducted very often.
