Fire incident leaves entire family dead

In a tragic fire accident, an entire family was charred to death on Monday night at Chumukedima town.
According to police sources, the victims identified as Feroz and his wife Eliza alongwith their two daughters Raziya and Tamanna were charred to death in the inferno. Sources said that a cylinder also exploded due to intense heat from the inferno. While the exact cause of the fire was not known, police suspected it to have started from a short circuit.
Meanwhile, Chumukedima Town Council constituted a five-member relief committee consisting of advisor CTC, P Beituo Hama, head GB Chumukedima town Kelenguzo Shuya, Neikholei Shuya, Ali Akbar and Zubenthung Humtsoe. CTC chief advisor has urged public and NGOs to contribute in cash or kind for victims of the fire incident.
Citing occurrence of several deaths due to fire related incidents, the tribal union Chumukedima town has urged the government to set up a fire station at Chumukedima at the earliest. The union also pointed out that the nearest fire station being at Dimapur takes time to respond in reaching the spot.
Adds Correspondent Imphal: Meanwhile the dead bodies , were brought back to Imphal late Mondayevening.
The four members of the family, husband, wife and their two daughters were charred to death in the fire that broke out around midnight last night, relatives of victims hailing from Khumidhong of Imphal said.
Md Firoz Khan (35) son of late Shiraj Khan and his youngest daughter, Tama, were found charred to death near the main door of the totally gutted house while his wife Ranjana Bibi (40) and their daughters Raziya (14) were found in the bed room.
The family was there, in Chukudema, running a electronic shop in the house they are living for the last around 20 years.
How the fire broke out could not be immediately ascertained by the family who said that the dead bodies were brought back by the elder brother of the deceased Firoz who is also staying in Nagaland but in other place.
