The Labour department has begun its second phase of Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna (RSBY), the National Health Insurance Scheme for BPL families in Longleng, Tuensang and Kipheri districts through block level workshops starting from March 3 in Tamlu headquarter.
The programme will further extend to Mon, Wokha, Zunheboto and Dimapur district by April 2011 and is expected to cover another 80,000 BPL families.
Block level workshops were successfully conducted in Tamlu and Longleng blocks under Longleng district and Chare, Longkhim, Sangsangyu, Chassore blocks and Tuensang headquarter under Tuensang district from March 3 to 8, with proper instructions under the guidelines of the scheme
The department in collaboration with the state health and family welfare department is taking up all necessary arrangements to empanel all District Hospital very shortly so as to provide doorstep free medical services to all the BPL families enrolled under the scheme.
It may be mentioned that nearly 4,000 beneficiaries have already availed free medical treatment in the state through the empanelled hospitals till date.
All village authorities, town committees and BPL families have therefore been requested to extend cooperation with the department for successful and timely implementation of the Scheme.
Tentative Schedule Block Level Workshops in the remaining Blocks under Tuensang district are March 9, Noklak Block, 10am; March 10, Shamator Block, 10am; March 11, Thonokyu Block, 10am and March 12, Noksen Block, 10am.
