Myanmar cultural troupe to visit Mkg
DIMAPUR: North East Zone Cultural Centre would be organizing North East Spring festival in Dimapur and as part of the outreach programme, a cultural troupe from Myanmar would present a cultural programme at Mokokchung town hall on March 12, 3pm. In this connection, deputy commissioner, Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi informed heads of educational institutions located in Mokokchung to send 50 students to take part in the programme.
Govt declare transaction days
Dimapur: In view of the ending of Financial Year 2010-11 and the heavy transactions involved, the government has declared March 23 and March 30 and March 26 as transaction days for all treasuries and sub-treasuries in the state. This was stated in a notification by finance department, treasuries and accounts branch.

Kohima: A jungle fire reportedly broke out in the adjoining area of Sepfuzou colony on Wednesday evening. Official sources said that on hearing the information, two fire tenders were rushed in to douse the fire from further aggravating. Further details were awaited till the time of filing this report.
Renewal of PFA license
Dimapur: Chief medical officer Wokha has informed that, no person shall manufacture, sell stock, distribute or exhibit for sale of any article of food, including prepared food or ready to serve food except under license. District health authority has directed all food establishments, manufacturers, dealers, food vendors/hawkers in an around Wokha town to obtain/renew PFA license and medical fitness certificate from the office of chief medical officer Wokha on or before March 25.
Longleng DPDB meeting
DIMAPUR: Longleng dDPDB meeting was held on March 7 at DC’s conference hall under the chairmanship of DC and vice chairman DPDB Longleng. The board discussed agendas such as nomination of governors awards for deserving candidate, establishment of sub-centre at Yongmung village, prohibition of hunting and fishing, inclusion of diversion road at Chuji under PWD(R&B), creation of ATP post at Longleng (Asst. Town Planner), establishment of PHC at Shakshi and Kongshong and site allotment for PWD department.
W’shops in Dimapur to remain closed on Mar 12: Dimapur District Garage Welfare Trade Union (DDGWTU) has rescheduled its 1st annual picnic to March 12 on account of holi festival. All members have been requested to reach DDGWTU office by 7am. Further workshops within Dimapur jurisdiction have been requested to remain closed on account of 1st annual picnic of DDGWTU.
CGOF 17th general session: The 17th general session of Chakhesang Gazetted Officers Forum (CGOF) would be held on March 12,10am at Zonal Council hall Kohima. Chotisuh Sazo, parliamentary secretary social welfare, child and women development and Besusayo Kezo, IPS, additional director general of Police, Meghalaya would be the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

DAKK annual day: Diphupar Area Kewhimia Krotho (DAKK) celebrated its first annual day on March 5 at the residence of Neibu Phewhuo. The program was chaired by K. Kezha Dzüvichü, president (DAKK), and invocation by Pele-o Machie-o, advisor (DAKK). Special song by womenfolk was led by Neithonuo Keretsü, while Neibu Phewhuo and Pelhoubalie Khezhie exhorted the program. Secretary DAKK Theyievilie Belho, and treasurer Rokuolhoulie Üsou presented reports.
KWC decennial celebration: Decennial celebration of Khonoma Wildlife Conservation (KWC) scheduled to be held on March 15 at Khonoma village has been postponed to March 16 due to unavoidable circumstances. The main function would be held at the village community Hall at 10am with minister for forest, environment and wildlife, M. C. Konyak would be the chief guest. Social scientist, Niketu Iralu, would deliver the keynote address. Besides officials from the state, several environmentalists and other guests from outside Nagaland are expected to grace the occasion. Jeep safari for VIPs and invitees would also be organised.

KUD meeting: Khrimitomi Union Dimapur (KUD) has convened a meeting on March 12, 8am at the residence of Tohovi Chisho, banker, Lhomothi village. All members of Khrimitomi residing within Dimapur have been requested to attend the meeting.

UBCA, NEI, one day deacons, deaconess seminar: United Baptist Churches Association, North East India (UBCA, NEI) would be organizing one day deacons and deaconess seminar on March 12 at UBC Gautam Basti, Khatkhati, Karbi Anglong. Registration would start at 8am and session begins at 9am. All deacons and deaconess of respective Churches have been requested to attend the seminar.
DCC Wokha joint coordination meeting held: Dimapur Congress Committee (DCC) Wokha joint coordination meeting was held on March 8, 10am at DCC office Wokha. The meeting was attended by PCC members, secretaries, frontal organization and ACCC presidents. Meanwhile, DCC Wokha expressed gratitude to AICC president Sonia Gandhi for appointing Dr. S C Jamir, CWC permanent invitee, Eduardo Falerio and Major (Rtd) Ved Prakash as AICC general secretary in-charge Nagaland and secretary in-charge Nagaland respectively.
Hoishe to Tuku Nasami village road inauguration: The newly constructed road from Hoishe to Tuku Nasami village under Zunheboto district (36th A/C Satakha sub-division) would be inaugurated on March 14 by Kaito Ayemi, minister for PWD R&B, Nagaland. Further, Tsuyilato union have requested all villages to check and clear up roads to avoid inconvenience during the VIPs tour to both Satakha and Pughoboto area I.C. from Satkha to Pughoboto via Kichilimi road.
Submission of correct bio-data: Dimapur Government College, principal has informed students who have appeared/appearing the ongoing Nagaland University examinations 2011 and whose particulars have been wrongly entered in the hall ticket to submit their correct bio-data to the principal before the completion of current university examinations. Failing which, the principal added that the college authority would not entertain future complaints concerning the same.
Hunting, fishing banned in GVC: Ghukiye Village Council (GVC) held a meeting on February 26 and resolved to ban hunting of wild animals or any person carrying fire arms within its jurisdictions. Further GVC re-affirmed that fishing other then traditional system/style within its jurisdiction would be strictly banned. Any individual/group found violating the order would be dealt as per its resolution, added GVC.

Phek DPDB meeting postponed: In view of the visit of the President of India, Pratibha Devisingh Patil to Nagaland, the Phek DPDB meeting has been postponed to March 11. All DPDB members have been requested to take note of it and attend the meeting. All outpost administration officers are also requested to inform DPDB members of their respective jurisdiction accordingly.
Akuluto co-ordination meet postponed: Akuluto Town Council and GBs co-ordination meet with head of departments which was earlier scheduled on March 11 has been postponed to March 12. The time and venue remains the same.
