The Zeliangrong Baudi (ZB), Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation (ZMO) and Zeliangrong Students’ Union (ZSU) Nagaland have condemned the current conflict between NSCN (I-M) and Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) at Khoupom areas Tamenglong District Manipur, where cadres belonging to ZUF killed. They appealed all the factions or groups to restrain from violence. The three Zeliang bodies said they were not in favor of any particular group but against bloodshed and violence in any part of Zeliangrong areas be it at Manipur, Assam or Nagaland.
They said that at a time when the Nagas in general were in the process of Reconciliation, bloodshed should be stopped at any cost.
They said it was unfortunate that though differences among the Naga national workers sprung up, no action was taken so far and as such enough time should also be given to the Zeliangrong civil bodies to negotiate and bring out the differences to understanding through peaceful means before taking “such drastic action.”
Further, the orga-nizations lamented that some national workers restrained the Zeliangrong civil body from taking out a peaceful rally at Tamenglong.
They said that the voice of the people should not be suppressed when peace was the need of an hour. The joint statement was ZSU president Penam, ZMO president, Adai and ZB president Akang.
