DIMAPUR: Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) has vehemently condemned rapists Eman Ali and Ranjit Choudhury and appealed the judicial authorities to imprison them for not less than seven years or more.
It may be mentioned that Eman Ali raped a minor girl in Sugar mill area and on April 1 Ranjit Choudhury residing in Master’s Colony Kuda village Half Nagarjan raped a mentally challenged minor girl, daughter of a domestic helper and also his tenant.
In a press statement, Liangsi Niumai John general secretary NWHD said such type of “sexual offence” committed to minor girls has violated and totally shattered the victim’s freedom, human right and dignity.
Demanding legal justice, the Hoho urged the advocate, public prosecutor and court to play a role while tackling the issue.
Reminding judicial authorities and advocates that the victim’s human right was more important than the rapist’s human right when such type of intolerable criminal act/sexual offence are committed, the Hoho has fervently appealed all important stakeholders and citizens to not only condemn but to convert it into action.
“Contribute your role to minimize and stop any kind of sexual offence to any girl child and women”, the Hoho said, and further emphasized on changing the mindset of the society on treating “girls or women as a sexual object”.
