DIMAPUR: Green Succession of Nagaland State (Green-Sons) has appealed to all high ranking government officials to refrain from accepting wild animals as gift from villagers during their visit to any place in state on official or personal reason.
Urging to preserve and conserve the natural resources, Asen Aier information secretary Green-Sons in a press statement said it learned that one of the high ranking officers of the state government visited Doyang Hydro Electric Project on April 8 and was gifted wild animals by the villagers.
Such officers, according to Green-Sons are “selfish and ignorant” of preserving and conserving the natural resources of the state.
It further pointed out that officers should encourage people to conserve natural resources of the state for future generation instead of accepting wild animals as gifts.
