Advocacy campaign on AIDS at Yampha

DIMAPUR: One-day advocacy campaign on HIV and AIDS was held at Yampha village under Bhandari constituency on April 5. The meeting was attended by 253 delegates representing different groups such as village council, VDB, women organisation, Church leaders, youth and students’ union, social workers, teachers and other government officials.
State coordinator LFA Nagaland Dr. Vinito L. Chishi highlighted the activities of LFA as well as the national HIV and AIDS scenario. Parliamentary secretary for prisons and home guards fire and emergency services, Er. W. Kithan advocated for community responsibility in combating HIV and AIDS and highlighted the activities of LFA and its commitment and support in order to achieve HIV and prevention in the state. He also stressed on the importance of ICTC and voluntary blood test in order to live a healthy life. Calling upon the people to respect the rights and well being of the PLHAS, Kithan urged the people to put into action whatever have been discussed at the meeting.
Other resource persons include Robin Ezung, president CYSA, Myamo Yanthan, Lochumi Lotha president WNP+. The meeting concluded with interaction and action for community participation.
