UKHRUL, APR 11 : In a significant development in upholding and safeguarding citizen’s rights in Ukhrul district, Justice TNK. Singh, judge of Guwahati High Court along with registrar, deputy registrar, secretary law, district and sessions judge, senior advocate Guwahati High Court from Imphal in presence of Ukhrul deputy commissioner N. Ashok Kumar, SP Ukhrul, SDO and EE PWD surveyed Ukhrul Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) office and the deplorable condition the office and court rooms. Sources disclosed that the main objective of the inspection was to asses the construction of new class Court building shortly as per the government plans. The people of Ukhrul faced troubles and hardships due to improper functioning of Court and Jail in Ukhrul compelling the people to go to Imphal for any Court cases settlement. Now the people of Ukhrul are optimistic of having proper infrastructure in Ukhrul CJM court office and quarters and relief the burden of people without necessarily go down to Imphal for settlement of cases. Legal experts in the court said people legal awareness on women rights, children rights and importance of law and court would be facilitated to people with the upgradation of the court.
