Forest officials seize wild animals

Forest officials of Peren forest division seized two jungle fowls and one wild cat (all dead) in a public transport moving out of Jalukie on April 12. According to a press release issued by Samuel Changkija IFS, DFO Peren, the seized animals were burned in the forest complex at Jalukie in the presence of SDO (C) Jalukie Jamithung, DFO Peren Samuel Changkija, Range Officer Jalukie Rampaukai and the president and general secretary of Zeliangrong Students’ Union.
Further, Peren forest division informed that in future, if any illegal wildlife are found in any of the public transports, the driver would be held responsible and also requested drivers of public and private transports plying from Peren district not to carry any wildlife or passengers who are in possession of such animals or birds to avoid arrest/detention.
