DPDB Kohima organizes extempore speech competition

The Kohima District Planning & Development Board organized a district level extempore speech competition for the Government High Schools under Kohima district Friday, the April 15. The programme was held at DC’s Conference hall, Kohima with parliamentary secretary, horticulture, R. Khing as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest congratulated Kohima DPDB for initiating such new innovative ideas which is very educative and will have a good effect on the students and others as well.
He said that in modern times, more emphasis is given on human resource development and such competitions will test the intelligence and courage of the students as well as keep them abreast of what is happening around the world. He said that the students are the leaders of tomorrow and called upon them to be determined and give their best. EAC Kezocha, Zenikhono in her short speech applauded the Kohima DPDB for taking the right step in guiding the student community and urged the students to take the platform as a privilege. She said that only through such competitions one can express confidently and called upon all to take up extra effort to gain recognition.
The chief guest gave away the first prize to Keneilhounuo from Government high School, Sechu Zubza who had spoken on ‘Internet and its advantages.’
Lo Kumar Singh from Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima received the second prize who had spoken on ‘Importance of computers in the modern world.’ Vimehunuo from Government high School, Khuzama got the third prize after speaking on the topic ‘If I were the headmaster of my school.’
The winners received cash prizes along with merit certificates. Certificate of participation were also given to all the participants.
The programme was chaired by DIS, Tseminyu, Atomy Swu. EAC Sadar, Neilezo Tep proposed vote of thanks. The judges of the competition were EAC Avelu Ruho, EAC Sharon Longchari and EAC Khanyang.
