Kicking off her tour programme, Miss Nagaland, Hattinneng Hangsing on Friday visited Servanthood Christian Ministry Orphanage Home, Peren, much to the delight of the young inmate orphans who welcomed her in their colourful dresses.
She was accompanied by the president and other members of the Peren District Beauty & Aesthetic Society (PDBAS) and SDO (C) Peren, Imsongmeren. The orphans greeted Miss Nagaland with a melodiously song in Nagamese. During her speech, Miss Nagaland encouraged the young orphans telling them that it was her love and concern for them that brought her to the orphanage and that she considered herself as their elder sister.
The reigning Miss Nagaland also took time to extend her gratitude to the founder and caretaker of the Orphanage Home, Evangelist D. Kutwang for the unconditional love given to the orphans.
SDO (C) Peren, Imsongmeren encouraged the young inmates of the orphanage home stating all were equal in front of God and urged them to have a strong will-power to become successful persons later in life. He also extended his gratitude to Peren District Beauty & Aesthetic Society for organising the programme.
The caretaker of the orphanage home, during his speech, sought prayer support from all and highlighted the home has been sustaining with the grace of God with contributions made by individual well-wishers, adding it was yet to receive any assistance from the government and NGOs.
He also highlighted the need for a prayer home, and a study room for the inmates. President of PDBAS, Peling thanked Miss Nagaland for her kind gesture and wished her success for her remaining tour programme. Miss Nagaland is scheduled to visit Alpis Home, Dimapur and Chavara Home, Dimapur on April 18 next, Rehab Centre, Heningkunglwa on April 23, Cradle Ridge, Kohima on April 25, Orphanage Home, Kohima on April 26 and then attend the 1st Annual Fashion Show presented by the Global Open University, Nagaland.
