Phom Gazetted Officers’ Association (PGOA) held its second general session on April 15 at PPC hall Longleng where parliamentary secretary RD and REPA Nagaland, S. Pangnyu Phom graced the function as the chief guest.
Pangnyu in his speech called upon Phom Gazetted Officers’ Association members to be the guardians of Phom society, and called upon them to have co-ordination and co-operation among the Phom officers and legislators.
The chief guest also urged Phom officers to bring good name to the community through their sincere and dedicated service in their given profession.
Parliamentary secretary, TPT & Mechanical Engineering Nagaland, P. Dako Phom who was the special speaker of the session also presented a road map for Phom Gazetted Officers’ Association on the theme “Challenges ahead”.
P. Dako Phom called for a total paradigm shift in the overall social structure and working pattern of the Phom community in all aspects.
He also challenged the Phom Gazetted Officers’ Association to take the lead on this perspective.
Others who spoke at the general session included president PPC, B. Hamnyei; president APGO, B. Manpong Phom, and T. Imdong Phom, deputy director (Rtd).
During the occasion, a book titled ‘Laa-ngan’ (Phom Poetry) written by C. Bhupom DHO and music CD of C. Bakup was also released.
Other highlights of the programme included presentation of special songs by C. Bakup Phom, B. Henok Buchem SDO (C) and Cross Road Band Longleng.
