NNCs war of words continue unabated

Naga National Council on Monday has clarified on March 29 meeting where I. Panger Walling was elected by few groups called by V. Nagi attended by three members from Ao, four from Lotha, seven members from Angami and seven to eight collective members from Sema.
According to vice president NNC, Kiumukam Yimchungru, ‘tribalism and ism’ spread during the meeting was called by V. Nagi former general secretary NNC.
He also clarified against the misuse of finance at Dimapur which he said K.Y. Yimchungru was given the finance in-charge by central executive at Dimapur. However, V. Nagi collected the money from businessmen and head of department.
NNC also alleged that, V. Nagi and V.N. Angami finance in-charge collected money from various political leaders, departmental offices and business community on proposal of going to foreign mission, but used it for construction of his own house since 2003 till date and no audit of the government functioning was done.
NNC also stated that in 2009 V. Nagi endorsed Mukhemong Yimchungru CEC, Hukhuto Sema CEC to collect money from business community but had informed S.P. Kohima and ultimately led to the arrest of the endorsed members.
The vice president also said on March 31, 2010 at Science College Jotsoma near Zonal College, V. Nagi directed the Assam Rifles to conduct home arrest of Kiumukam Yimchungru vice president NNC, Sama Ao “major general” NNC, Wangthamo Lotha military, Yimto Yimchungru and Lakhum Yimchungru, and told the O.C. to remand Kiumukam Yimchungru to Kohima jail.
NNC also reiterated that, V. Nagi has been expelled from the post of general secretary NNC, and that he has not right or authority to use the name of publicity wing in the press, adding the council would not compromise with V. Nagi and I. Panger Walling under any circumstances because the “duo had brought the policy of division” in the east and west.
Meanwhile, NNC in a separate press statement said since March 29 till date, whatever press statements were published under various regional names was all baseless and unfounded allegations leveled against the “nation” in the “Naga homeland”. NNC alleged that V. Nagi did not consolidate with the regional authority and the higher authority for any specific publication with matters relating to NNC government.
The statement also mentioned that NNC apex organisation had “fully ignored” whatever was published in the media till date.
