Kidnap Case: Assam shopkeeper released

A shopkeeper from Borbali Gaon, Surpathar under Golaghat Assam who was kidnapped for ransom allegedly by ANLA militants on April 12 and taken to Yanmhon area under Wokha district was released on April 16 at around 6 p.m.
According to a statement issued by Yanmhon Area Public Organisation (YAPO) president, Khonbemo Jmai, after the ANLA militants brought the shopkeeper, Bimbeshwar Boro aged around 65, to the foothills of Yanmhon area, a joint search operation was carried out by the security forces, concerned village GBs, public and students’ body. Subsequently, the YAPO said that with the full cooperation of NSCN (I-M) authorities and with the help of ‘deputy kilonser’ internal security affairs, Orenthung, the victim was released safe and in sound health and handed over to the YAPO public. It was stated that the victim was handed over to his family members on the same day in the presence of district administarin and public leaders. In this regard, the YAPO has thanked the NSCN (I-M), the district administration, KSU, KLRSU, neutral forces and Boro Kachari public for their cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Lotha Lower Range Public Orginization (LLRPO) has strongly condemned the kidnap of Bimbeshwar Boro from Borobali village under Golaghat district Assam and kept captive creating a tense situation in the area especially Yanmhon area. It appealed all factions to let peaceful atmosphere prevail. LLRPO has appreciated SP Wokha and his team, DC Wokha, Lotha Hoho,KSU, KLRSU, ADC Bhandari, Yiphyolumo Mozhui Advisor YAPO, P.M Marapani and all the public for defusing the situation and intervening in the release of the victim.
