Aongza ward of Mokokchung Town celebrated its golden jubilee on April 28 under the theme ‘A new beginning in unity’.
Minister home, Nagaland Imkong L. Imchen and MLA C. Apok Jamir was the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Imchen said Aongza ward being a small ward has the advantage of knowing one another better, and a better systematic administration by the ward authority. He said this while mentioning about the ward which have produced a good number of politicians, educationists and eminent personalities during the last 50 years. The minister was also optimistic that the citizens of the ward would always uphold the good name and be the vanguard among the ward in Mokokchung town.
MLA C. Apok Jamir while extending jubilee greetings urged the wards citizens to work together not by words, but by spirit with conviction so as to live up to the expectation of the former leaders.
Apok also challenged the citizens to be united and march towards a new beginning, saying that it should be the bounden duty of all to make the challenge into reality.
According to official bulletin, short speeches were delivered by MLA Nungsangyapang, chairman, Land Owners Union, Mokokchung Aotongpang, chairman All Ward Union Mokokchung Watimongba Aier and chairman Kichutip ward, Mokokchung Tsuktimeren.
