Indo-Myanmar border liasion meet

The five-day, 43rd Indo-Myanmar border liasion meeting between Indian Army Officers and Myanmar Army Officers commenced Thursday.
According to a press statement by Lt Col GSO-2 (Int) Hq Mtn Div, Rajesh Kumar, a twelve member Indian Army delegation led by Major General DS Hooda, AVSM, VSM, GOC HQ 57 Mountain Division under the aegis of HQ 3 Corps left for Myanmar to attend meeting on Thursday.
The Indo-Myanmar border liaison meet is a landmark event where representatives of both the Armies interact and exchange views on matters relating to security of border areas and measures to be initiated to control insurgency in both countries. The event provides an opportunity to all the delegates to know each other personally and help in further strengthening the bond and co-operation between both the countries, the statement added.
