CSDD on issue of ration cards

In connection with the confusion over issue of ration cards between food and civil supplies department and ACCC, 16th A/C Pfutsero which was published in local dailies on March 22 and 25, the consumer society Dimapur district (CSDD) has issued clarification.
CSDD clarified the department of food and civil supplies has the privilege of issuing conditional additional ration cards in the interest of identified consumers, if it was reviewed under conditions subject to availability of special adhoc/additional allocation under TPDS and elimination of bogus ration cards and inclusion of eligible beneficiaries are continues process in the department to check diversion of essential commodities as per the PDS control order 2001.
CSDD also stated that in the forthcoming period 2011-12, the central ministry made monthly allocation of AOL food grains to the state government i.e. 6233 tonnes of APL food grains every month for distribution to the consumer of the state as per terms and conditions of the department.
CSDD general secretary Khekivi Z. Wotsa and press secretary Pradip Sethi further appealed the department of food and civil supplies to issue application forms for obtaining APL ration cards or renewal of ration cards for consumers of Dimapur district as per the district allocation since renewal of ration cards under BPL/AAY/Annapurna were being done for the forthcoming 2011-12 from FPS level.
