One day seminar for village functionaries and Church leader was held on March 24 at Meluri village council hall. The programme was organized by social welfare society for rural development (SOWSORD, PBCC) in collaboration with state institute of rural development (SIRD), Government of Nagaland.
In the seminar, Peter Lichamo ADC, Meluri, spoke on ‘The concept of development’, Velu-o Shijo, joint director, SIRD Nagaland; Kohima, on ‘The feasibility and viability of governmetn scheme in relation to rural development and the role and the advantage of leaders to play for developing rural areas’ and Dr. Jutsütho Phoji, research officer, (SIRD) Kohima on ‘The accessibility of govt. schemes and means for rural development’.
The programme was attended by VCCs, VDB secretaries, Church leaders and NGOs in Pochury area.
SOWSORD on behalf of the organizing committee and delegates has extended gratitude to all speakers, department of SIRD and government of Nagaland for their concern for rural people. SOWSORD also thanked all the participants for making the programme a success.
