The Indian Red Cross Kiphire Branch (IRCS) organized a two-day seminar on Red Cross movement and basic first aid at Tethuyo village Kiphire.
Deputy Commissioner and Chairman IRCS Kiphire C.M Tsanglao was the special guest while Dr. Kevi, Medical officer Sitimi, Levi Keor M.C members and program officer NSS ZPC and Lipichem H. secretary IRCS Kiphire were the resource persons.
The Deputy Commissioner in his speech said one should feel for fellow human beings as the world was a family. He also asked participants to actively involve in social service like Red Cross which is a global movement.
The special guest also shared on the importance of Red Cross movement and said, ‘The organization exists because it fells the need of the people’.
Speaking as resource person Dr. Kevi taught basis of first aid and also demonstrated how to attend to patients in times of emergency.
Dealing at length on common sicknesses prevailing at the region, Dr. Kevi demonstrated how to treat a patient before reaching the hospital.
Levi Keor, M.C Member and program officer NSS ZPC talked on the history of Red Cross movement, how the movement started and the mission associated with it.
Honorary Secretary IRCS Kiphire talked on the seven fundamental principles and the emblem of Red Cross.
