The review meeting on implementation of RGGVY scheme in Mon district was held at office chamber of deputy commissioner, Mon Dinesh Kumar.
DC Mon who chaired the meeting, briefed about the progress made in the implementation of the RGGVY schemes in the district.
The meeting was attended by the MLAs Chingwang and Kongam and other committee members.
The EE power and the representative of the wind power energy implementing agency briefed the members that the work has been completed in the 38 electrified villages and 3 de-electrified villages by the end of February 2011.
Emphasizing on electrification for BPL families in the village which is the key objective of the RGGVY schemes, the power department was asked to conduct physical verification to ascertain the actual coverage of BPL households in the village under the scheme.
Sub-station at Longshen and Mopong is to be completed by October 2011, and the external electrification of all the villages under RGGVY to be completed by June 2011.
Noting that VEMB has to be constituted in all electrified villages in the district, department of power was asked to make all required efforts to set up VEMB in all the villages while implementing RGGVY schemes.
Representative of the contract agency, Wind Power Energy who was also present in the meeting was asked to increase the working team in order to expedite the work.
He agreed to increase the manpower up to 15 to expedite and timely completion of the project.
It also decided to conduct field visit by the committee members during the next meeting which will be held in May.
