Rengma Students union (RSU) has lamented that despite appealing to various government employees to be sincere and stationed at their posting place at Tseminyu sub-division, many government employees were still found absent from duty.
The union said due to irregular government employees the Tseminyu sub-division one of the oldest sub-divisions have failed in many developmental activities thereby making it one the most “inefficient and undesirable” sub-divisions in the state.
The union in this regard stated it has sent a query to the head of the department at its district headquarter for justification and to demand action against the errant officers while adding that it would not longer remain a mere spectator at the insufficient and poor functioning of the departmental offices.
Also highlighting the step-motherly attitude of the government towards Tseminyu sub-division, the union lamented that besides poor functioning of government employees, the sub-division has been plagued by pathetic road condition along Botsa to Tseminyu town terming it “no less than a river”.
Union president Kenneth Rengma and general secretary Solozu Kent also mentioned that ever since widening of NH-61 began, Rengma region has been neglected with the department of road and bridges, national highway division neglecting the present situation.
Cautioning if the condition of Tseminyu area was not improved within a short span of time, Rengma Students union said it would impose blockade on movement of all government registered vehicles within the Rengma community and would conduct a series of agitation.
