Temporary suspension of NNC committee members

DIMAPUR: The NNC has restrained from publishing about the co-ordination committee members to the general public.
NNC has alleged that members Ghosiiho, Paul Anar, Yanchumong Chang, Hanping Zeliang, Kumcho Yimchungrii led by Kiumukam Yimchungrii had taken money from other party and distributed the whole amount among themselves which led to confusion, misunderstanding and division in the NNC set-up.
Stating that members had gone beyond the limit, NNC has resolved to suspend the co-ordination committee members appointed by NNC for the “time-being” for misuse of funds given by other party as a good-will help to NNC.
“The House passed this resolution on March 29 and this resolution stand in the interest of all concerned and final”, stated the NNC information and publicity wing in a press note.
NNC also added that due to misuse of funds, the members’ did not attend the meeting on March 29, adding this had created confusion in the minds of the people.
SKK condemns assault

DIMAPUR: All Sumi Students Union (SKK) has condemned the incident on March 29 where one Nitoshe was assaulted at West Police Station by police personnel Hanchio. The SKK while appealing the authority to take action against the guilty policeman, stated that it would not remain a silent spectator if the authority failed to take action.
Meanwhile, SKK has mourned the demise of Nitoho Achumi (IPS) additional director general of police. The SKK described that the demise of Nitoho has brought great loss to the Sumi and Nagas in general. The union conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
Govt. employee accused of damaging government property

DIMAPUR: Kohima village youth organisation (KVYO) has alleged that an incumbent of directorate of school education had cut down all the trees from the office campus at Bayavü hill while leaving the department on retirement.
According to the organisation, the incumbent had cut down several trees which belonged to the public and took away all the tree trunks.
Stating that such action was unwanted and uncalled for from an officer, the organisation in a letter to the director, directorate of school education has directed the culprit to return the tree trunks within 7 days from the date of publication of this press release. The organisation further requested the director of school education to take action against the culprit, stating it has not only damaged, but affirmed it would not tolerate those taking away public properties from the government establishments.
NSEAOA emergency meeting: All Nagaland School Education Administrative Officers’ Association (NSEAOA) has convened an emergency meeting on April 7 at 11.30am at the conference hall of the directorate of school education, Kohima. All officers from assistant headmaster and above are requested to attend the meeting.
SAPO meeting: Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) has convened an emergency meeting on April 7 at 10am at its headquarter SAPO Hall Jahkama. All executive members and frontal organizations have been requested to attend the meeting.
DSSU joint meeting: Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union (DSSU) has convened a joint meeting on April 5, 10:30am at Nagaland Science Centre, Super market, Dimapur. All executive members, colony, sector representatives have been requested to attend the meeting.
DJST joint meeting: Dimapur Japukong Senso Telongjem (DJST) has convened a joint meeting on April 9, 11am at the residence of its treasurer (Notun basti). All executive members, senior leaders and elders have been requested to attend the meeting.
BKD emergency meeting: Benreului Kangbau Dimapur (BKD) has convened an emergency meeting on April 6, 8am at the residence of Paukwerangbe, Burma camp Dimapur. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting.
PSU general meeting: Phishumi Students’ Union (PSU) has convened a general meeting on April 9, 11am at the residence of Kughaho Assumi Mishikito, Dimapur. All office bearers, jubilee planning board members, advisors and the public have been requested to attend the meeting.
Training on para legal volunteers and legal awareness: Nagaland state legal service authority would be organizing a training programme on para legal volunteers and legal awareness on April 9, 10am at IGNOU centre, Chuchuyimlang. All LKM executives, advisors, five members from each unit and all senior students have been requested to attend the training.
NUVC new office bearers: Election of Naga United Village Council (NUVC) council members for the tenure 2011-14 was held and would be headed by Kuthoku Shijon (Bole) as chairman and Deo Krome as secretary along with nineteen members.
Workshop on child labour: Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) would be organizing a workshop focusing on child labour with the theme ‘Progress and challenges’ on April 16, 10am at IMC hall, Dimapur. Representatives from national domestic workers’ movement, Nagaland region, Sofia Foundation and community educational centre would be presenting the vision and contextual scenario and stake holder departments would highlight the policies and care services.
CMO Dimapur inform grade-III, IV staff: Chief medical officer, Dimapur has informed that quarterly medical board for confirmation/invalidation and commutation pension for Grd-III & IV (non gazzetted) would be held on April 14 and 15, 10am at the office of chief medical officer Dimapur. All heads of department under Dimapur district have been requested to intimate the name and particulars of the intending candidate with purpose for which he/she would desiring to appear before the board to the office within seven days of the scheduled date. The office would not entertain candidates coming to the board directly without prior information, added CMO.
ANPSA meeting: Emergency meeting of All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) has been convened on April 8, 10 a.m at Ura Academy hall Kohima to discuss issue relating to Class VIII examination issue. All members under ANPSA have been requested to attend the meeting.
JYO general meeting: Jotsoma youth organisation (JYO) general meeting cum seminar under the theme “A Change through renewed effort” would be held from April 7 – 9 at the village council hall, Jotsoma. JYO requested all the youth of Jotsoma residing in the village and those residing outside the village to participate in the programme.
NU first semester examination : First semester examination of under department of economics, political science, botany, sociology, chemistry, geography, zoology under Nagaland University would be conducted from April 11 to 24, starting 10am.
YUN clarifies: Yepthomi union Nagaland (YUN) has clarified that news item published in a in a daily under the caption ‘Jingur of Sangtam’ should be read as ‘Yepthongur of the Sangtams’.
