Federation of Nagaland state engineering services associations (Fonsesa) has appealed to the government to fulfill Indian engineers’ federation (INDEF)’s three-point charter of demand. In a letter to the President of India, Prime Minister, union finance minister and Nagaland chief minister, the Fonsesa urged them to intervene and settle three-point charter of demand of INDEF and remove disparity “in the interest of economic development of the country.” According to Fonsesa president Er. Chanbemo Lotha and secretary general Er.Moa Aier, the three-point charter of demand of INDEF include heading & manning of technical departments’ secretariats by engineers; removal of disparities of career values of engineers vis-à-vis administrative services and constitution of an engineering commission. The engineers are aggrieved over gross disparity meted out to the engineering services in pay and status with administrative service even after 63 years have elapsed of colonial rule, they sated.
