With the tendering of written apology by complainant Zamboni Kikon wife of Nchumbemo Kikon of Koio village against Nitoshe falsely implicating him of theft at her residence on the night of March 28 and 29, the case has been settled outside the court amicably, in the spirit of forgiveness and as relatives. In a written apology, Zamboni admitted it was due to her impaired vision in identifying the person “deeply and truly” regretted for causing inconvenience to Nitoshe and his relatives for the untold sufferings. “I hereby stand by my statement even in future,” she stated. With regard to the subsequent alleged custodial assault case of Nitoshe by ASI Hachio at West Police station on March 29, the same case has been amicably resolved in true Christian spirit and the charges against the police officer withdrawn. The complainant also said it was understood that the police officer was in line of duty.
