Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute to introduce fellowship prog

GUWAHATI, APR 7 : In yet another significant development Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute in collaboration with Dutch School of Gynecologic Oncology and Pelvic Surgery, Netherlands will introduce ‘Two Years Fellowship Programme in Gynecologic Oncology’. The Fellowship programme will be affiliated to Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences, Assam.A memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be signed between Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati and Dutch School of Gynecologic Oncology & Pelvic Surgery, Netherlands at a function in the Seminar Hall of the Institute on April 7. As per the arrangement, expert from Netherlands will visit Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute twice a year to participate in the teaching and training programme. This will also provide an opportunity for short-term placement of students in reputed hospitals in Netherlands.
Prof. U. C. Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences, Assam will grace the occasion as chief guest. Prof. Peter Heintz, Chairman, Dutch School of Gynecologic Oncology and Pelvic Surgery, Netherland will sign the MoU and deliver a keynote address on “The need of gynecologic Oncology as sub-specialty”.
Dr. K. Uma Devi, Senior Consultant Gynecologic Oncologist, Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore and Secretary, Indian Society of Gynecologic Oncology will also attend the function.
