Six Nagas clear civil service (mains) exam
DIMAPUR: The following six Nagas have successfully cleared the civil service (mains) exam 2010 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in 2010. They are (merit-wise): 241 Hungyo Worshang; 674 Cherakung Zeliang; 819 Kayio Kayina Th - Song Song Village, Mao; 855 Kahoto J Yepthomi; 861 R N Ranmung; 887 Wormila Jasmine Keishing.
Imkong fetes Assam CM Tarun Gogoi
DIMAPUR: MLA and former president, NPCC, I. Imkong, has felicitated chief minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi on the resounding victory of INC in Assam for the third consecutive term in the recent assembly elections held in Assam.
Imkong in a press release stated the significant victory proved that Congress in Assam under Tarun Gogoi’s able leadership had managed to tap growing aspirations of the people Assam to join the growth process. Expressing happiness that the people of Assam had voted in favour of peace and development, Imchen said he would be looking forward to supporting and co-operating to build a united Indian National Congress across the northeast. Imkong further wished Gogoi success as he leads the people of Assam to greater prosperity and all-round development with transparency and accountability.
Contingency staff oppose interview
TUENSANG: Contingency staff of LDAs, DBs, drivers and grade IV under the establishment of the deputy commissioner Tuensang, described the interview held on May 13 at DC conference hall Tuensang as “objectionable”.
According to the contingency staff, the interview was conducted for only casual, adhoc and contract, whereas the notification published on May 6 in a local daily stated the interview was to be conducted for all contingency staff of LDAs, DBs, drivers and grade IV under the establishment of deputy commissioner Tuensang. In this regard, the staff of DC office has demanded the higher authority to withhold the result until were conducted.
