International Development Research Centre (IDRC) has expressed happiness over the works carried out by Nagaland Empowerment of People through Economic Development (NEPED) in the state.
Speaking to media on Saturday evening at the Heritage Guest House, IDRC president and former Canadian High Commissioner to India, Dr. David Malone said they were happy to see that the project funded by them were successfully implemented over the last 10 to 12 years through NEPED. IDRC is a Canadian government funding agency was established under the Act of Parliament of Canada.
Explaining about the IDRC, Dr. David Malone said IDRC supports research in developing countries to promote growth and development. He added that IDRC also encouraged sharing its research knowledge with policy makers, other researchers and communities around the world. “The result is innovative, lasting local solutions that aim to bring choice and change to those who need it most” he asserted. Stephen McGurk, Regional Director South Asia and China, IDRC said that the IDRC has supported 150 different research projects in India.
