Action committee on women quota

Naga women representing the Naga Mothers’ Association, Eastern Naga Women Organisation, Nagaland Women Commission, women lawyers and activists have resolved to stand firm on Reservation for women and accordingly set up a 5-member action committee. The members include: NMA president, Abeiu Meru; NMA advisor, Rosemary Dzuvichu; KNSK president and representative of ENWO, Yomah Konyak; first president Watsu Mongdang, Temsusola and Naga Women Hoho, Dimapur secretary, Liangsi Newmai. According to a statement from the NMA, the committee was set up during an emergency consultation meeting held on May 5 where the House chalked out a series of strategies to ensure that the fundamental rights of Naga women were protected and respected by the state government in regard to the Reservation of seats for women in Town and Municipal Councils in Nagaland.
