Chief electoral officer informs on EPIC, PER

Election commission of India has directed vide their letter NO.23.NL/2011dated 27.4.2011 for implementation of electoral roll photo identity card (EPIC) and photo electoral roll (PER) in Nagaland.
According to a notification issued by J. Alam, IAS, chief electoral officer (CEO), the whole exercise will be carried out by deploying booth level officers in all the polling stations under the supervision of deputy commissioner and district election officer within their administrative jurisdiction.
The schedule is as follows: State level master trainers training will be held from May 16-17; district level booth level officers training will be held from May 20-21; fresh photographs image capturing – Phase I from June 1-26; download images from cameras to PCs – Phase I by July 1; photography/image capturing – Phase II from July 2-27; door-to-door survey to detect errors in the working copy and make corrections therein from August 30 – September 8; draft publication of photo electoral roll from September 30.
All eligible voters have been requested to be available in their respective polling stations for photography on the scheduled days, the details of which will he notified separately by concerned deputy commissioner and district election officer, stated chief electoral officer.
The chief electoral officer also appealed to all the political parties, village councils, ward authorities and the NGOs to extend their fullest cooperation to ensure accurate photo E/Rolls and Photo ID Cards.
All deputy commissioners and district election officers have been asked to submit the progress report on every stage for implementation of electoral roll photo identity card (EPIC) and photo electoral roll (PER) to chief electoral officer, Nagaland for onward submission to election commission of India
