To review and monitor the progress of the implementation of mini-mission - II of jute technology mission, Dr. S K. Biswas, director of jute development, government of India, Kolkata along with officials of directorate of agriculture made a field visit.
The visiting officials included Dr. S. K. Biswas, director of jute development, government of India, Kolkata, I. Panger, joint director of agriculture, Apong Pongener, deputy director of agriculture, Ahovi Sema, DAO Dimapur, Kevikhu Achumi, SDAO Niuland, Wochamo Patton, AO -II Dimapur, Toivi, AO -II Dimapur, Kozote, AFA Dimapur, Asheto, AFA Dimapur, Yimkum, AFA Dimapur Yam, RCH Dimapur.
The officials visited Ghoshito village, Kikheye village, Sunito village and held interactions with the farmers.
The farmers expressed their grievances such as lack of proper retting facilities for jute, lack of market facilities and decortications machine for ramie.
The visiting director of jute development Dr. S. K.Biswas while interacting with farmers briefed them about the upcoming schemes like retting schemes which could be taken up during 2012-13, the latest technical know-how and the avenues to market the fibre cash crops.
He also assured the beneficiaries of every possible help from the directorate of jute development, government of India.
