Naga People’s Front (NPF) party unit at 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency held a ‘General meeting’ at Longchem here today, which was well attended by more than three hundred party workers from different villages in the constituency. The meeting reiterated their staunch support to Parliamentary Secretary Er Saku Aier who is from the constituency.
The meeting was presided by vice president and the joint secretary of the 30th Alongtaki A/C since the president and the general secretary were absent at the meeting.
It is given to understood that the 30th Alongtaki A/C which has a sitting MLA holding the portfolio of Parliamentary Secretary of Housing, Labour and Employment, has been facing some dissension from among the party workers who reportedly submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and the NPF party President dated April 7, 2011 on April 13 against the parliamentary Secretary, Er Saku Aier.
The meeting at Longchem “outrightly condemned the complaint letter dated 07/04/2011 that was submitted to the chief minister and NPF president and others by those complainants under the signatories of the party president and general secretary 30 Alongtaki A/C on account that the grievances were not channeled properly”.
The meeting strongly noted the complaint letter to the chief minister and the NPF party president (as per the advertisement in a local daily by a party official): “The Executive Committee under the leadership of P. Chuba Ozukum, Naga Hoho, general secretary and Talitoba, VP Kissan (NPCC) submitted the complaint letter by the Executive Committee, 30 Alongtaki A/C (duly signed by the President and General Secretary) to the chief minister and Nagaland NPF president for immediate removal of the Parl. Secy., Er T Saku Aier and to be given to a ruling NPF MLA considering the proximity of 30 Alongtaki A/C is against the interest and benefit of the people.”
It was also made public that “five of the complainants” have withdrawn their complaint except “four members of the complainants viz:- Imlitemsu, President, Supongmeren, Gen Secy, Imdong Jt Secy. Central Youth Wing, and Watitoshi Committee member from the office of the 30 Alongtaki A/C, as office bearers who abstained the general NPF party meeting despite the meeting was convened by them to be held on May 17 after meeting held on May 11 against whom the meeting appealed the division office, Mokokchung for strong disciplinary action deem fit ”.
Besides, the meeting also questioned the activities of P Chuba Ozukum the General Secretary of Naga Hoho.
“P Chuba Ozukum, Naga Hoho General Secretary who is a social worker but took part in a Political party (NPF) creating confusion, division jeopardizing the party interests and problems in the 30 Alongtaki A/C is questionable that the President, Naga Hoho may expedite proper reply lest he is dropped immediately from the post and service of General Secretary Naga Hoho”.
