Implementation of EPIC and PER

Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Dimapur Maongwati Aier has informed all political parties and general public of Dimapur district that the Election Commission of India has approved implementation of Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) and Photo Electoral Roll (PER).
The detailed time schedule of PER would be as follows. State level and district level training: from May 16 to 17 state level master trainers training and from May 30 to 31 district level/booth level training. Photography 1st and 2nd phase: from June 1 to 26 fresh photography/image capturing-1st phase, by July 1 downloading of images from cameras to PCs-1st phase, from July 2 to 27 photography /image capturing-2nd phase and by August 1 downloading of images from cameras to PCs-2nd phase. On photo merging: from August 2 to 16 merge photographs as binary data into the elector table. Print working copy of photo roll: from August 17 to 24 printing of working copy, from August 25 to 29 distribution of working copy to DEOs/BLOs for door to door verification, from August 30 to September 8 door to door survey to detect errors in the working copy and make corrections therein and from September 9 to 12 update database-carry out corrections made in the working copy in the database. Integration of Photo Electoral Roll: from September 13 to 17 integrate all supplements to mother roll, September 18 to 27 report generation and printing of photo E-Roll for draft publication and from September 28 to 30 dispatch of photo E/Roll for draft publication and on September 30 draft publication of photo electoral roll.
Meanwhile, all booth level officers have been requested to attend training/briefing on May 30 and 31, 10am at DC’s conference hall, Dimapur.
Mokokchung: Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung has informed that BLOs would carry out photographic operations under the supervision of concerned administrative officers. Training for BLOs would held on May 26-27, 11am at Ongpangkong Salang, Arkong ward (near LRSO office) Mokokchung. All BLOs have been requested to attend the training and those yet to receive BLO identity card have been requested to bring two recent passport size photos.
