DMC publicity cell in this regard informed it has received numerous complaints from the public that they are being charged above the prescribed rate by traders involved in selling pork, beef, mutton, fish etc.
DMC has reminded traders not to sell items above the prescribed rates and also cautioned the traders not to cheat customers by using faulty weighing scale.
Stating it would no more tolerate such illegal practices, advisor in-charge of market rate control said the council will take stern action against any trader found cheating the public, and may even lead to cancellation of trade license.
Further, DMC informed that in the event of detection, no exemption whatsoever in any form would not be entertained. Public can lodge complain at phone nos. 03862-236815, 9774559288 & 9436602259.
