WOKHA: Peace Channel, Wokha district organized a day’s program for teachers and students of the club at Don Bosco Youth Center on May 14.The programme was held under the theme “Give Peace a Chance”. The purpose of the training was to empower the youth with the qualities of a true leader and enable them to be the instruments of peace in the family, educational institutions and the society at large. Cynthia, the district coordinator and Monica the trainer, animated the students.Kishore Dass and Rev. Fr. Mathew DSB oriented the teachers on various teaching methods, class room management and peace education respectively. There were over 113 teachers and students who participated in the programme.
Zunheboto: Peace Channel, a youth peace movement was launched in Zunheboto district with the message of peace and prosperity for the people and was welcomed whole heartedly by the people of the area. David Neikha, coordinator introduced the peace clubs in five schools namely Corner Stone, Immanuel, Merry hill, Seven home and Woodland school, respectively and highlighted on the concept of the movement and its activities, and future plans for the district. The movement received a warm welcome and absolute co-operation from the civil society and the heads of the institutions of the districts.
