DDCF honours HSLC, HSSLC toppers

A simple but memorable felicitation programme was organized by Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) to honour the toppers of HSLC and HSSLC exam 2011 from Dimapur district on Saturday at Town Hall, Dimapur.
This is the first time in Dimapur where students from different communities and tribes were felicitated under one platform organized by DDCF.
The Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum which has been formed to promote and protect the citizens of Dimapur, on Saturday felicitated around 65 students and 5 schools for their excellent performance in the HSLC and HSSLC exam respectively.
The five schools within Dimapur district who had been awarded by DDCF for their cent percent result were El Shaddai Academy Dimapur, St. Joseph School Vihito Niuland, St. Joseph Christian Academy Kuhuboto, St. Joseph School Chumukedima and Eastern Academy Diphupar.
Speaking at the programme, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee, president and advisor DDCF, Sungit Jamir said the forum was the eyes and ears of the people of Dimapur district and the only place where people from all tribes are represented under one roof.
“Different, but yet we are one and proud citizens of Dimapur district”, he said and asked others to emulate the people of Dimapur as they believe in unity and not in communal differences or riots.
Appreciating the DDCF for taking on the issues concerning Dimapur district, Sungit said he was also looking forward that the forum would take up major issues pertaining to people’s interest in years to come and further urged the Forum members to be torch bearers of peace and harmony among different tribes, communities and people within the district.
Congratulating the toppers for their achievements, the DDCF advisor advised them to continue with their same achievement even in future and also appealed to the people of Dimapur to contribute for the welfare of Dimapur district.
Apart from the executives and office bearers of DDCF, the program was also attended by teachers, parents, representatives from schools and educational institutions, tribes, communities, other organizations, vice president Naga Hoho, general secretary Dimapur Naga Council, Hukheli T. Wotsa president Naga Women Hoho Dimapur and people from various walks of life within Dimapur district.
