The 6th module intensive training for accredited social health activist (ASHA) for the Chumukedima block was held from May 16-20 at Community Hall, Chumukedima.
All ASHA workers from Chumukedima block numbering about 45 attended the training. The main focus of the 6th Module training was to bring down the rate on infant mortality rate (IMR) and neonatal mortality rate (NMR) and maternal mortality rate.
ASHAs were trained on basic knowledge on caring and referral systems especially for the pregnant women to the nearest health institutions for safe and healthy deliveries.
At the end of the training, ASHAs were given first aid kits.
The five days long training was coordinated by Ajanuo Anar, block program manager and Priscilla, ASHA coordinator and facilitated by Chongboi, PHN and Amongla, ASHA coordinator of Dhansiripar.
The entire training was also conducted with the presence of Dr. Ritu, Deputy CMO, Dimapur and medical officer Chumukedima PHC Dr. Narola where they have supplemented the whole session on various roles and responsibilities of ASHAs for rural health care systems.
