Stating that it was compelled to respond to NPCC president S.I Jamir’s “repeated statements” which were personalized attacks on the home minister Imkong Imchen, the NPF Monday said going to the extent of questioning the bloodline of other leaders was shocking and exhibited immature political leadership.
Accusing S.I. Jamir of repeatedly dwelling on excuses, complaints and personalized attacks, the NPF secretary general K.G. Kenyie said all of which were unconvincing and would not convince the people in any manner. “It will be best if S.I Jamir gracefully accept defeat and desires of the people,” said Kenyie.
Maintaining that the contest (by-election) was between the NPF and Congress and the policies, programmes and political stand of respective parties, Kenyie said Toshipokba’s victory was a clear sign of the people’s approval and acceptance of the NPF’s stand on all issues especially the “political stand” of the party.
“Going on and on with unreasonable personalized charges and unconvincing excuses does not speak well of a senior leader who is the president of a responsible national party,” remarked the NPF leader.
